By awarding Scholarships, our club hopes to encourage the love of horticulture, along with the preservation of our environment. Awards are paid directly to the university or college

RECIPIENTS OF 2024 SCHOLARSHIPS

​

The following students received scholarships last year and were awarded again this year.

​

Jenna Duncan

A senior majoring in Environmental Science, Policy, and Management with minors in Insect Science and German. She is dedicated to leading remediation and restoration efforts for contaminated sites, especially pollinator conservation. It is Jenna's goal to use Science to protect people and conserve wildlife. 

​

Francisco Garcia

Working on his BA-majoring in Business Technical Management in Horticulture while managing his business at Chicago St. Sunflower. He also helps manage his family's five-acre farm. 

​

Nainika Gupta

A senior majoring in Environmental Engineering with a Leadership Studies minor. She recently participated in a marine research expedition in Iceland and Svalbard sailing through the Arctic Ocean.

​

Judy John Schloegel

Working on AAS degree in Horticulture. Judy envisions her future work in a public garden setting utilizing her scientific knowledge to educate the public about sustainability in landscapes. 

 

Madeline Walbridge

A sophomore completing a double major in Environmental Policy and Political Science at Loyola University. She plans to further her studies with a degree in environmental law, in pursuit of a career as a lobbyist and legal consultant. 

 

First Time CCGC Scholarship Recipients

 

Emily Lubek

A freshman planning to major in Environmental Science and planned minor in Ecology or Forestry. At her internship with Accelerate Climate Solutions, she developed marketing programs to target youth awareness of sustainability solutions. 

 

Shinmayi Subramanian 

A freshman majoring in biochemistry. It is her belief that agriculture is one of the most important programs we should focus on.
